Heterologous coexpression of Panax ginseng DS and D12H genes

Abstract: DS and D12H genes, which are involved in ginsenoside biosynthesis were obtained by Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) and Enzyme Digestion Connection (EDC) techniques. Expression vectors of both genes were constructed, namely DS-pAUR123 and D12H-pAUR123. Then, both expression vectors were transformed into Saccharomyces cerevisiae. Results show that both genes can be heterologously expressed into functional enzymes.
