Design method in exterior color based Kansei engineering and principal component analysis

Abstract: Based on the theory of perceptual Kansei engineering, the quantization of perceptual terminologies is achieved using semantic difference method. Principal component analysis is used to transfer multiple perceptual terminological variables into optimized integrated variables. The database method of exterior color classification method is established based on statistical results of the questionnaire with the A-Class car exterior color design of domestic brand. The objective analysis of the perceptual image is conducted for the target group people. The research results improve the scientific character and objectivity of the design of vehicle exterior color. The results also provide theoretical guidelines to reduce cost for vehicle makers.
