Vehicle integrated chassis control based on model predictive control

Abstract:

The model predictive control(MPC) method was proposed for the integration of chassis control.In the emergency obstacle avoidance manoeuvre,the vehicle ideal manoeuvre characteristics was followed by a combined use of differential braking and active steering.The top integrated controller calculates additional yaw moment and the front wheel angle which the lower sub-controller required through MPC method.The nonlinear 7-DoF vehicle model was built as the predictive model,and its accuracy was verified by vehicle tests.The control performances of MPC method were verified by simulation in the Carsim.
