Effects of road surface fractal and rubber characteristics on tire sliding friction factor

Abstract: An improved model was built to analyze the effects of road surface fractal feature and rubber friction characteristics on the tire sliding friction factor(SFF). Simplifying the calculation of the rubber viscoelasticity characteristics, introducing the road surface fractal features and rubber friction characteristics, an improved model was built for the SFF. The comparison with the Savkoor dynamic friction factor verified the effectiveness of the improved model. Using the improved model, simulations were performed to analyze the vehicle speed on tire SFF under different road surfaces and different types of tire. The results showed that the improved SFF model can precisely analyze the effects of road surface feature and tire rubber characteristic on SFF under different sliding speeds, avoid introduction of the parameters which are difficult to obtain, providing a theoretical basis for the systematic analysis of the explicit-implicit tire print features.
