Displacement response testing method of beam bridges based on strain gauge

Abstract: First of all, by using the mechanical relation of beam bridge displacement, strain and bending curvature, the mathematical model to calculate the bridge displacement with the measured strain data was established. And then, the model solution was realized with the generalized least squares principle so as to result in the beam bridge displacement response algorithm based on strain gauge eventually. Finally, one numerical example was calculated for verifying the feasibility and accuracy of the proposed method, its accuracy can meet the requirement of engineering application well. Besides, this method can analyze real-time bridge displacement just by use of the existing strain data but no need for any displacement device.
