he existence and multiplicity of positive periodic solutions are considered for the secondorder ordinary differential equation u″(t)+k2u(t)=f(t,u(t)), where the nonlinear term f(t,u) may be singular att=0, t=2π and u=0. By constructing suitable control functions and using fixed point theorem on cone, the existence of npositive periodic solutions is proved for the ordinary differential equation, where n is an arbitrarynatural number.

By combining the Newton method with the method of harmonic balance (HB), we have established improved analytical approximations to the period and the corresponding periodic solution to the non-linear Jerk equations. This method is established by successively linearizing the rewritten governing equation and, subsequently, appropriately imposing the HB method in order to obtain linear algebraic equations. Therefore, the complexity of the HB method has been greatly simplified. The improved solutions are in excellent agreement with the numerically exact solution, and are valid for small and large allowable values of initial velocity amplitude.

The series solutions of the linear ordinary differential equation at singular point were studied via the infinite order matrix of the linear differential operator in power series basis. We got a recurrence formula to compute the characteristic vectors of the infinite order matrix belonging to λ=0 and then completed the expression of the series solutions with the characteristic vectors. The regularity of singular point is judged with a finite order matrix, and the Fuchs theorem has been improved.

This paper deals with the existence and uniqueness of solutions to a class of doubly strongly degenerate equations. Owing to the degeneracies in the equation, the classical solutions of the problem may not exist. We firstly gave the definition of the weak solution of the problem considered, then by virtue of the regularized problem combined with the compensatory compact theorem, we proved the existence of the weak solution, finally, we showed the uniqueness of the weak solution by using Holmgren’s method.

With the view of application, this model considers the uncertain situations in the traffic system. Compared to the classical TSP problem, this mo del is more flexible and also has more application value. This mode is more properly for vehicle to choose the best route. This paper also proposes a hybrid app roach which is based on the ant system to solve the problem of uncertain TSP, namely, a 3-opt method is used to do the local optimization. This paper presents a new perceptual digital watermarking scheme based on human vision system, discrete wavelet transform and orthogonal vector. The original gray image is first divided into 8×8 blocks, and then 8×8 blocks are permuted. A 1level digital wavelet transform (DWT) is applied to each 8×8 block. Each watermark bit is modulated by orthogonal vector, then the watermark is added to the original image. Finally the IDWT is performed to form the watermarked image. In the watermarking detection process, two detection algorithms are proposed. By hypothetical testing, the watermark can be extracted exactly. The experimental results show that the proposed technique successfully survives image processing operations, image cropping, and the Joint Photographic Experts Group (JPEG) lossy compression. Especially, the scheme is robust towards image sharping and image enhancement.

This paper introduces a new approach of improvedCanny operator for edge detection. The filter operator constructed with the first order partial derivative of twodimensional Gaussian function is employed to compute gradient. Then the edge was located via the edge detection and localization method with four threshold values. And finally, edge thin operation was conducted by introducing a morphological operator. The improved algorithm can enhance the capability of suppressing noise, delete false edges and obtain exact edges. Experimental results indicate the feasibility and validity of the improved algorithm.

To get the screw dislocation motion characteristic in the growing process of lattice mismatched heterostructures, a pair of screw dislocations is introduced in a full periodic Si crystal via dislocation dipole modeling. The screw dislocation motion velocity and cross\|slip versus the shear stress applied by Parrinello\|Rahman method are investigated by utilizing molecular dynamics simulation technique. In addition, how the motion of screw dislocation is affected by a vacancy defect is investigated. It is found that a ring\|shaped hexagonal vacancy located in the dislocation slip plane can facilitate the motion of the screw dislocation. The motion velocity is increased in comparison with that of the model without vacancy defect. The screw dislocation can eventually stride over the ring-shaped hexagonal vacancy during cross-slip, preventing from being pinned. These results reveal the basic mechanism of LT-Si technology, i.e., a large amount of vacancy defects located in Si layer can eventually reduce the dislocation density due to the dislocation motion characteristics.

Contact angles of the surfaces are small at low temperatures, but large at high temperatures, which is attributed to the competition between intermolecular and intramolecular hydrogen bonding in the PNIPA. The method is very simple and economic. This kind of smart surfaces, what’s more important, can be fabricated on any substrate in large area.

Barley seeds were treated under different high hydrostatic pressures and were kept for 2 h.Compared with those of control, both germination rate and seedling rate decreased considerably with pressure increasing, all barley seeds were dead after treatment under 200 MPa. The above results show that high hydrostatic pressure could affect the seeds germination, seedling growth. Plant growth was inhibited for treated barley during the early growth stage of seedling. The genetic variation of different high hydrostatic pressure treated barley seeds was investigated by RAPD and ISSR analysis, 21 ISSR and 19 RAPD primers generated 391 and 229 bands respectively, of which 49.93% and 58.59% were polymorphic respectively. ) via our method with those via the conventional ultrasonic water extraction method, after total ginsenosides and nine monoginsenosides were measured with HPLC after purified by the macroporous resin method. The results show the dilutedacetic acid extraction method is better than the conventional ultrasonic water extraction method, the totalginsenosides and monoginsenosides yields via the diluted acetic acid extraction method were significantly increasedcompared with those via the conventional ultrasonic water extraction (P<0.001).The diluted aceticacid extraction method is a improved method of the conventional ultrasonic water extraction of ginsenosides and a new method, which has a high extraction yield and the operation is simple, and meets the need of industrialized manufacture.

The adsorption characteristics of phenol and p nitrophenol onto natural surface coatings (biofilms and associated minerals, collected in the Nanhu Lake, Changchun, China) and the effect of pH on phenol and p nitrophenol adsorption onto natural surface coatings were examined. The results show that Freundlich and Langmuir models are all fit in with describing the adsorption behavior of phenol and pnitrophenol on naturalsurfaces coatings. During the adsorption procedure, surface coatings showed amphoteric properties and can buffer the acids or alkalis in the solution. With pH from 5 to 9, the sorption amount of phenol increased with increasing pH, however, the sorption amount of pnitrophenol decreased with increasing pH. The variety of pH in solution could affect the species and adsorption of phenol and pnitrophenol.

The ultraviolet spectrophotometric method was employed for determining alkaline pentachlorophenol in water at a wavelength of 320 nm. The linear regressive equation is Y=0.0052X+0.0002 (320 nm) with a linear range of 1.88~187.73 μmol/L (r=0.999 9). The detection limit of the method is 0.27 μmol/L, the relative standard deviation (RSD) obtained is less than 5%, and the recovery range is 100.70%~103.75%. The method is suggested to be fast, convenient and repeatable; it is applicable to the batch determination of pentachlorophenol in the course of studying its environmental behavior in the laboratory.
