Abstract:

Objective To study the protective effect of Fufang KuQiaomai (FFKQ) on the myocardial injury of the diabetic rats, and to charity its mechanism. Methods The diabetic rat models were established by intraperitoneal injecting streptozotocin (STZ).The diabetic rats were divided into model group, FFKQ group and benazepril group;at the same time, normal control group was set up.The body weight (BW), cardiac index (HWI), heart rate (HR), left ventricular systolic blood pressure (LVSP), left ventricular diastolic pressure (LVEDP) and ±dp/dtmax of the rats in various groups were measured 8 weeks after treatment. The levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) in serum were detected;the malondialdehyde(MDA), superoxide dismutase(SOD) and glutathion peroxidase(GSH-Px) activities in myocardium tissue were measured to evaluate lipid metabolism. Results Compared with normal control group, the FBG, HWI, LVEDP, TG, TC and MDA of the rats in model group were increased(P<0.01);the BW, LVSP, HR, ±dp/dtmax, SOD and PSH-Px activities of the rats in model group were decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with model group, the FBG, HWI, LVEDP and MDA of the rats in FFKQ and benazepril groups were decreased(P<0.05 or P<0.01);the BW, LVSP, HR, ±dp/dtmax, SOD and PSH-Px activities were increased(P<0.05 or P<0.01), but all the indexes above of the rats had no significant differences between FFKQ and benazepril groups(P>0.05).The morphology of myocardium tissue of the rats in model group exhibited that the cardiac muscle fibers was confused and the cardiac muscle cells were spargosis, but FFKQ and benazepril improved the morphology of myocardium tissue of the diabetic rats. Conclusion FFKQ exerts a certain protective effect on cardiac injury of the diabetic rats through inhibiting lipid metabolism.
