Abstract:

Objective: To investigate the expressions of Ki-67 and cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2) in colorectal carcinoma tissue and their clinical significances,and to provide basis for the diagnosis and treatment of colorectal carcinoma.Methods: A total of 71 colorectal carcinoma patients were selected.The positive expression rates of Ki-67 and COX-2 in colorectal carcinoma tissue (colorectal cancer group,71 cases),para-carcinoma tissue(para-carcinoma group,71 cases),and normal mucosal tissue (normal group,20 cases) were detected by immunohistochemical SP method.The relationship between the expressions of Ki-67 and COX-2 and metastasis,different stages and prognosis of colorectal carcinoma were analyzed.The correlation between the expressions of Ki-67 and COX-2 was analyzed by Spearman analysis method.Results: The psitive expression rates of COX-2 and Ki-67 in colorectal carcinoma tissue were obviously higher than those in adjacent tissue and normal mucosal tissue(χ²=24.581,P<0.05;χ²=11.538,P<0.05).The positive exprssion rates of COX-2 and Ki-67 in carcinoma tissue of the patients with lymph node metastasis were significantly higher than those in the patients without lymph node metastasis(χ²=5.021,P=0.025;χ²=7.289,P=0.007).The positive expression rates of Ki-67 and COX-2 in carcinoma tissue in the patients at Ⅰ+Ⅱ stage were significantly lower than those in the patients at Ⅲ+Ⅳ stage(χ²=8.570,P=0.003;χ²=11.409,P=0.001).The expressions of COX-2 and Ki-67 in colorectal carcinoma tissue of the patients had a positive correlation(r=0.520,P<0.05).The post-operation medium survival time of the patients were shortened with the increasing of the expression levels of Ki-67 and COX-2, and the 1-,3-,and 5-year survival rates of the patients with positive expressions of COX-2 and Ki-67 were decreased gradually.Conclusion: The abnormal expressions of COX-2 and Ki-67 play an important role in the occurrence and development of colorectal carcinoma and may be responsible for the occurrence,development,invasion and metastasis of tumor.The expressions of COX-2 and Ki-67 may be the reference indicators to judge the biological behavious of colorectal carcinoma.
