Fast simulation of spiking neural networks

Abstract:

An event-driven design method was presented for the computer simulation of spiking neural networks(SNN) using a restricted spike response model(SRM) of neuron.The performance of the event-drive simulation was compared with that of the clock-driven approach.The results of computer experiments show that the event-driven method greatly increases the simulation speed of SNN.Moreover,the event-driven simulation can achieve higher temporal precision of spike firing.
