Abstract: Starting with the whole vehicle energy consumption, the principle of energy flow of electric vehicle was analyzed. The relational functions of electric power consumption to the driving condition, the vehicle parameters, the component efficiency and braking energy recovery ratio are established. By calculating the feature weighting of the driving condition, the potentials of energy-saving of different vehicles under different driving conditions can be analyzed to provide theoretical foundation for matching of parameters of electric vehicle. The function of braking energy recovery ratio was built to calculate the vehicle energy-saving rate based on the braking force allocation algorithm. The simulation model was built on Matlab/Simulink platform to calculate the energy-saving potential and energy recovery efficiency. In comparison with AVL/Cruise simulation, the calculation method of this paper is more effective in analyzing vehicle energy-saving potential.
