The dose distribution of 125I source in water was studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations and thermo luminescent dosemeter (TLD) method, and the results were compared. The results show that when 125I source activity was 1.37×107 Bq, the radial distances of 125I source were 0.5,1.0,1.5 and 2 cm, the dose rates of 125I with MCNP method were 11.7,3.3,1.5,0.8 mGy/h, TLD measurements were 12.2,3.1,1.3,0.7 mGy/h; 125I source radial dose rate decreased rapidly with increasing distance.
