Analysis on prevalence and influencing factors of      hypertension 
in adults in Songyuan area of Jilin province

Abstract:

Objective To investigate prevalence of hypertension in the  adults in So
ngyuan area of Jilin province,and to analyze its main influentcing factors.
Methods A multi-stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to investigate 2 373 people between 18 and 79 years old

in Songyuan area in July,2012,and the  questionnaire about non-infections chronic diseases and related physical examination (include height,weight,waist,hip,blood pressure,blood sugar and so on) was conclucted.The  prevalence of hypertension for different gender
 and ages in this area was described,and the  significant influencing factors related with hypertension were found using χ2 te
st for univariate analysis and logistic regression for multivariate analysis.
Results The hypertension prevalence of adults in Songyuan area was 19.6% (standardized rate 13.3%).The hypertension prevalence for women was 21.3% (standardized rate 13.5%) which was higher than that for men (17.8%,standardized rate 13.0%)
.The hypertension prevalence had a rising trend with the increasing of age.Univariate analysis showed that significant factors mainly included obesity,age,g
ender,family history,diet and exercise,etc.Multivariate analysis showed that the influencing factors were obesity,age,family history,eating fruit,and ea
ting meat.Conclusion The hypertension prevalence of the adults in Songyuan area of Jilin province is less than the national level;the prevalence of hypertension
 has significant relation with age,obesity,family history of chronic disease and diet.
