Performance and Emissions from a LPG Motorcycle

Abstract: A LPG motorcycle was developed from gasoline prototype for the first time in China and its engine power output,motorcycle dynamic performance,fuel economy,exhaust emission is and accelerating driving noise were experimentally measured on an engine dynamometer test bed,classis dynamometer stand and on road.Test results showed that the developed LPG engine power and motorcycle dynamic performance were almost the same with gasoline prototype,fuel economy ameliorated.Exhaust emissions are much lower than Euro Ⅰ limits and HC,NO x exhaust emissions are even lower than Euro Ⅱ limits,but the CO exhaust emission is a bit higher than Euro Ⅱlimit. Maximum accelerating driving noise of LPG motorcycle can meet requirement stipulated in national standard after 2005.
