Cold rolling mechanical characteristics of low carbon base plate produced by compact strip production

Abstract: With cold rolling base plate of low carbon steel by compact strip production(CSP) process, the cold deformation experiments were carried out by the two-roller reverse-mill in our laboratory. The work-hardening conditions of cold rolling base plate with different deformations were studied through the room temperature tensile test and microhardness measurement, and microstructures of cold deformation plates were studied. It is found that with the increase of deformation, the steel yield and tensile strength of low carbon base plate increase and its work-hardening become significantly. The test steel microstructure is ferrite with mingle small amount of pearlite, and its grain is refined and elongated with the increase of deformation.
