Abstract: Objective:To detect the expression levels of angiogenin-1, 2 (Ang-1, 2), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), tumour necrosis factor (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in the serum and villus tissue of the patients with missed abortion before and after taking mifepristone,and to elucidate the mechanism of mifepristone for the treatment of missed abortion. Methods: A total of 68 cases of patients with missed abortion were selected as drug abortion group,and 51 cases of healthy pregnant women were selected as control group. ELISA was applied to detect the levels of Ang-1, Ang-2, VEGF, TNF-α, and IL-6 in serum of the patients; immunohistochemistry was used to detect the expression levels of Ang-1, Ang-2, VEGF, TNF-α, and IL-6 in villus tissue. Results:The levels of Ang-1, Ang-2, VEGF, TNF-α and IL-6 in serum of the patients in drug abortion group after abortion were higher than those before abortion(P<0.05).The expression levels of Ang-1, Ang-2, VEGF, and TNF-α in drug abortion group after abortion were higher than those in control group(P<0.05), but the IL-6 expression level was lower than that in control group (P<0.05). The levels of Ang-1 and Ang-2 in serum and villus tissue had positive correlation with the VEGF level(r=0.849,r=0.721,r=0.590,r=0.532,P<0.05). Conclusion:Mifepristone can promote the termination of missed abortion by increasing the levels of Ang-1, Ang-2, VEGF, and TNF-α in serum and villus tissue and decreasing the IL-6 level.
