Development of individual objective lens for head-mounted projective display based on optical system of actual human eye

Abstract: The optical system of actual human eye was established by the wave-front aberrations, corneal topography and ocular axial length. With the goal of ideal imaging at the retina of actual human eye, an individual objective lens for had-mounted projective display with 68° large field was developed, which could correct not only the aberrations of the objective lens, but also that of human eye. The imaging quality on the living retina was analyzed. It was shown that the distortion is 2%, the lateral color aberration 10.0 μm, and the retina image resolution is 50 pl/mm. The individual objective lens is less than 18g weight after production and assembly without diffractive-optical element, which can meet the demands of modern head-mounted display in high performance, large field of view and light weight structure.
