Abstract: According to the forming principal of the spherical surface，both the inner and outer spherical surface of the spherical hinge were formed using the circular motion of the work piece and the milling cutter. The errors of the size, the shape and the position were analyzed and the measares to reduce them were proposed. A combined machine tool configuration was used lohich is charaterized by simple structure as well as easy to adjust and maintain. An elastic clamping head was fitted on the spindle which makes the work piece by installed and removed conveniently. The cutting parameters were optimized through the speed control of the cutter motor and the spindle motor by the power supply frequency converters and the highefficiency and highaccuracy machining of the spherical surface was achieved.
