Degradation of sodium mnitrobenzene sulfonate was investigated by the catalytic wet peroxide oxidation (CWPO), and the removal effectiveness of the degradation were compared under conditions of different
catalysts (Co/Bi, Mn/Ce, Cu/Mn/Ce, Cu(NO3)2, and activated carbon) and oxidants (peroxide and oxygen). Meanwhile, the effects of the reaction conditions, including reaction temperature, amounts of peroxide and catalyst, oxygen partial pressure and the initial concentration on the removal efficiencies were also discussed. The results show that sodium mnitrobenzene sulfonate was more efficiently decomposed by CWPO with Cu(NO3)2 as catalyst; the reaction temperature, am
ounts of peroxide and sodium mnitrobenzene sulfonate have significant influence on the degradation reaction. Besides, the addition of oxygen and catalyst can enhancethe degradation efficiency. Otherwise, the temperatureincreasing process has important influence on the degradation of sodium mnitrobenzene sulfonate through CWPO.
