Image edge detection by means of bivariate non-tensorproduct wavelet
LI Ying, ZOU Xi
J4. 2004, 42 (04):  483-488.
Abstract ( 213 )   PDF (522KB) ( 327 )
We constructed bivariate non-tensor compactly supported prewavelet with symmetrical property, and discussed why our constructed prewavelets are adapted to image edge detection, and put forward an effective edge detection algorithm of non-tensor wavelets according to the feature of our constructed non-tensor wavelets, in which the key is how to distinguish the noise from the image edge information. For different images, we detected edge by our method, compared the detechion with Sobel edge detection operator and Canny edge detection. From the examples, the performance of our method is obviously better than Sobel edge detection and is almost equal to Canny edge detection, and for the image with visible texture such as the fingerprint image, our method is a little b etter than other methods.

Abstract ( 205 )   PDF (283KB) ( 330 )
4-order nonsingle-valley Feigenbaum's maps without simple periodic orbits must bring chaos, chaos also bring the complication of the problem on the existence of likely limit sets. We testified the existence of the maps' likely limit sets using the method of fractal geometry and estimated their Hausdorff dimension. In the end, we gave an idiographic example to proof the existence of 4-order nonsingle-valley Feigenbaum's maps without simple periodic orbits.

Abstract ( 225 )   PDF (196KB) ( 462 )
In this paper, the dynamical system character of one-dimension simple cellular automata is studied. And the chromosome telomere conce pt is introduced to the field. We proposed a homogeneous dynamical evolution equation of the chromosome telomere in the one-dimension cellular automata. The chromosome length and its variational rate equations are obtained by using above chromosome telomere evolution equation. We have primarily founded the mathematic theory on the chromosome evolution of cellular automata which will provide the theoretics foundation for cellular automata mechanism research.

Variable structure control of a thermoelastic system
SUI Ming, LI Xiao-chun
J4. 2004, 42 (04):  521-524.
Abstract ( 195 )   PDF (303KB) ( 260 )
We consider a thermoelastic system described by partial differential equations with initial and boundary conditions. We defined an appropriate Hilbert space and a partial differential operator based on the considered thermoelastic system, and transferred the system to a first-order evolution equation in the Hilbert space. Since the characteristic of the variable structure is a sliding mode motion, that is, a lower dimensional motion, the state of the system can be restricted under some manifold in the state space of the system. We discussed variable structure control and designed a sliding mode of the th ermoelastic system so as to make the system realize sliding mode motion during a finite time interval no matter which position the motion started from, and the whole system to be stable. By means of the semigroup of linear operators we proved the feasibility of the equivalent control equation to be appl ied to the thermoelastic sysytem. Eventually, we have designed a sliding mode control of the system and have shown that the thermoelastic system is exponentially asymptotical stable under the control designed.

By the algorithm based on suffix array and by using HashMap the co-occurrence patterns of Chinese characters are gotten, and Chinese words are filtered through confidence. Experiment results show that by the algorithm one can acquire high frequency lexical items effectively and efficiently without the help of the dictionary and corpus as well. This method is particularly suitable for lexical-frequency-sensitive as well as time-critical Chinese information processing application.

A hybrid spatial reasoning approach based on fuzzy set
OUYANG Ji-hong, LIU Da-you, HU He, CHEN Bo-yu
J4. 2004, 42 (04):  565-569.
Abstract ( 233 )   PDF (311KB) ( 398 )
Based on fuzzy set theory, a hybrid spatial reasoning approach is proposed that combines qualitative spatial reasoning with quantitative one. The spatial relations among objects are interpreted as restrictions on l inguistic variables that represent spatial information about the objects, and the linguistic variables are provided to express qualitative spatial relations, and then these variables are associated with fuzzy sets for quantitative spatial information. By mapping linguistic values to fuzzy sets and elements of fuzzy sets to linguistic hedges, it is possible to switch back and forth between qualitative spatial information and quantitative one. Besides, we realized the reasoning of these spatial relations by showing that each Allen's basic binary relat ion can be associated with a fuzzy relation and obtaining an Allen's algorithm based on these fuzzy relations.

Pr3+∶ZBLAN Upconversion ultraviolet fiber amplifier based on 4f5d state
FANG Ai-ping, DAI Zhen-wen
J4. 2004, 42 (04):  572-577.
Abstract ( 198 )   PDF (396KB) ( 319 )
To increase the output power and slope efficiency of up conversion ultraviolet(UV) laser based on the 4f5d state of rare-earth ions doped in hosts, upconversion UV amplifiers can be structured to amplify the output power of oscillators. The laser kinetics for the upconversion UV fiber amplifier based on the transition from 4f5d to the 3H4 gr ound state in Pr3+∶ZBLAN fiber was investigated by using steady population rate equations and propagation equations. The saturation signal power, output power, slope efficiency and optimum fiber length were calculated. There exists a saturated power of input signal. The laser output power is almost independent of the input signal power when the signal power exceeds the saturated value. When the input power is greater than 1 mW, both the output power and the slope efficiency of the amplifier are 2 to 3 times those of the oscillator under the same conditions. The conclusion is that the fiber amplifier can greatly enhance the output power and the slope efficiency of 4f5d upco nversion Pr3+∶ZBLAN fiber laser.

Abstract ( 170 )   PDF (295KB) ( 310 )
The effects of a small amount of rare earth (RE) elements added on the hardness and hydrogen embrittlement of an aged and retrogressed-reaging Al-Zn-Mg alloy were investigated. Scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction were employed to study the microstructure and the precipitation phase of the alloy. The addition of REimproves the precipitation of a streng thing phase (MgZn2) and decreases the grain size. By the addition of RE, the strength, hardness and elongation of the alloy at peak-aging can be improved, the hardness and hydrogen embrittlement resistance of the alloy after aged-retrog ressed-reaged can be enhanced.

Abstract ( 155 )   PDF (374KB) ( 355 )
By means of the acoustic source model of multiple receiving points from excessively long source distance and the numerical simulation computation of the acoustic full-wave in the borehole, the feasibility and method of using reflected wave to detect the transverse interface of the cylindrical multi-layered media were investigated. An array of full-wave curves of the cylindrical triple-layered fluid-solid-solid borehole system that is 30 m away was calculated, and the reflected wave from the interface far from the borehole was clearly shown, which agrees fairly well with the time-distance curve calculated by virtue of the theoretically derived equations of source distance-arrival time of reflected wave. Finally, a cross-section chart of the interfa ce time(depth) records after adjustment (without the influence of tube wave) was drawn, and the information of interfacefar away from the borehole (of in- phase axis) was clearly presented.

Generalize the minimum time principle and calculate the optical gravitational deflection
CHEN Ting-li
J4. 2004, 42 (04):  594-596.
Abstract ( 193 )   PDF (197KB) ( 268 )
The minimum time principle was generalized. It is assumed that in global time zeroed coordinate, which fits g0i=0, the optical path makes the coordinate time interval minimum. According to this assumption, the deflection angle of light pass by the sun surface is α=4GM/r=1.75″, which is the same as that obtained before. This is essentially a sustaining of the no super-light velocity principle in general relativity. The basic assumption about the optical behavior is proposed, so it is totally a new theory. A method was given in calculating the optical path, which may be helpful for studying the light transition in cosmic.

J4. 2004, 42 (04):  599-564.
Abstract ( 194 )   PDF (284KB) ( 320 )
Based on the deep study of fuzzy neural networks and hierarchical genetic algorithm, an algorithm is proposed to optimize fuzzy neural network. In the proposed algorithm, the hierarchical coding is adopted to each chromosome, and an improved crossover operater is proposed, so it can evolve both the fuzzy neural network's topology and weighting parameters. Furthermore, a two-objective function is used as fitness fuction to evaluate the structure complexity and the performance of the fuzzy neural networks, and we can confirm the proportion between the complexity and the performance by changing the value of the parameter for a given problem, then we can obtain the near-optimal fuzzy neural network architecture for the problem. Numerical simulations showed the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract ( 191 )   PDF (355KB) ( 323 )
A method for the determination of trace elements in 5 kinds of traditional Chinese medicines by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry(GFAAS) is described. The matrix modifier used in this work was Ni(NO3)2. The e ffects of matrix quantity, ashing temperature and atomization temperature were investigated. The matrix modifier Ni(NO3)2 can not only impro ve the sensitivity of determination, but also eliminate the interference of foreign ions. Under the optimum experimental conditions, cadmium, lead, germanium and arsenium in traditional Chinese medicines such as cortex fraxini, flos sophorae, herba epimedii, radix acanthopanacis and radix scutellarae were determined. The recoveries are between 90% and 110%, the relative standard deviation is less than 8%. This method is rapid and reliable. It is a simple method for the determination of trace elements in traditional Chinese medicines.

J4. 2004, 42 (04):  628-632.
Abstract ( 197 )   PDF (300KB) ( 277 )
The influences of flow rates and pH value on the adsorption of Pb and Cd by the sod layers from Xianghai Wetland were studied by the means of dynamic adsorption experiments. The results show that the penetrative point was advanced and the adsorbance at penetrative point was decreased with the increasing of the flow rates of the solution or the decreasing of pH value of the solution. When Pb2+ and Cd2+ coexisted with the initial equivalent concen tration, their retention by soil was reduced compared to those when they existed individually, and the reduced percentage of Cd2+ was greater than that of Pb2+. The dynamic adsorption procedures of Pb2+ and Cd2+ on the soils can be described via double-constant rate equation and Elovich equation and described better by t he former.

Abstract ( 191 )   PDF (218KB) ( 275 )
The adsorption of Cd2+ and Pb2+ onto dominant dead bacteria in natural water was studied. The results show that when Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models were tried to represent the equilibrium data of Cd2+ and Pb2+ adsorption onto dominant dead bacteria, equilibrium data fitted very well to both the models in the studied concentration range of Cd2+ and Pb2+. The kinetic processes of the adsorption included fast phase and slow phase. Pseudo first-order and pseudo second-order kinetic models were also applied to experimental data on the basis of assuming that the external mass transfer limitations in the system can be neglgected and the adsorption is sorption controlled. The slow phase obeyed the second-order rate expression.
