To study the inhibition mechanism of Trifolium pratense to tumor, we investigated the inhibitory activity of Trifolium pratense extract contain 40% flavonoids and four major isoflavones on MMP-16. Results show that the Trifolium pratense extract containing 40% flavonoids inhibits MMP-16 a
ctivity, biochanin A, genistein and daidzein can’t inhibit MMP-16 activity, formon
onetin can weakly inhibit MMP-16 activity but not dosedependent. After column chromatography analysis, we obtained 33 fractions, the No.13 fraction and No.25
fraction inhibit MMP-16 activity and the inhibitory effect is dosedependent
for the No.13 fraction.
