Meta-analysis of detection rate of depressed mood among Chinese college stude
nts from 2002 to 2011

Abstract:

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the depressed mood status of college students from 2002 to 2011 in China,and to provide evidence for launching psychological health education.Methods PubMed,VIP database,the CNKI database were searched to find the published literatures about the detection rate of depressed mood among college students from January 2002 and December 2011.According to exclusion criteria the studies were screened,and the qualities of included studies were evaluated and MetaAnalyst software was used for Meta-analysis.Results Total 1 421 literatures were included.Wangfang Database account for 258 literatures,VIP 659 literatures,CNKI 413 literatures,PubMed 91 literatures;after screening a total of 1 089 literatures were excluded,after further study on the full text of literature,eventually 26 literatures were included,a total of 28 218 people,8 167 cases detected with depressed mood.The Meta-analysis results showed that the total depressed mood detection rate was 29.3%. The depressed mood detection rates of boys and girls among college students were 27.4% and 21.6%,respectively,and they were 37.6% and 24.5% in the Midwest and eastern area, respectively.Conclusion Depressed mood of male college students in China is more obvious than girls,and it is more obvious in Midwest area.
