Existence of multiple positive solutions for a class of nonlinear singular boundary value problems
MA Qi, GAO Wen-jie
J4. 2004, 42 (01):  1-5.
Abstract ( 584 )   PDF (192KB) ( 819 )
The existence of multiple positive solutions of differe ntial equation (φ(y′))′+g(t)f(t,y)=0 under nonlinear boundary value condi tion y(0)-B0(y′(0))=y(1)+B1(y′(1))=0 is studied, where g is allowed to be singular at the end points of (0,1). The authors prove with the use of L eggett-Williams fixed-point theorem that the problem has at least three positi ve solutions. By further using the theorem, they show that more, even infinitely many positive solutions may be obtained.

Abstract ( 189 )   PDF (168KB) ( 397 )
The present paper introduces a combinatorial trigonomet ric polynomial operator Sn(f;r,θ) (where r is a given natural number) based on the values of f(θ) (where f(θ)∈C2π〖KG*2〗and f(θ ) is an odd function) with the nodes θk=kπ/(n+1)n k=1. It has been proved that Sn(f;r,θ) uniformly converges to f(θ) (f(θ)∈C2π and f(θ) is an odd function) on the total real axis. And Sn(f;r,θ) reaches the best approximation order when used to approxim ate to f(θ) where f(θ)∈Cj2π (0≤j≤r-1) and f(θ) is an odd function.

J4. 2004, 42 (01):  43-49.
Abstract ( 222 )   PDF (441KB) ( 285 )
From the B-spline basis in Ⅰ triangular partition , at first, we got a sufficient and necessary condition under which the function belongs to wavelet space; secondly, by means of this condition, we constructed four non-tensor product compactly supported continuous functions with symmetry; furthermore we demonstrated there are three functions whose shifts form Riesz b asis. Therefore we have obtained bivariate non-tensor product prewavelet with c ompactly support and symmetry in Ⅰ triangular partition.

LIU Xiong-ying, QIU Shui-sheng, Francis C M Lau
J4. 2004, 42 (01):  103-106.
Abstract ( 189 )   PDF (255KB) ( 328 )
Generally, coherent or noncoherent method can be applied to chaso-based digital communication for digital informationdetection. In this paper, a kind of noncoherent detection technology for chaotic signal based on probabilistic method is presented. The method consists of maximum-likelihood and Bayesian formulation. Nonconherent detection is realized by the reconstruction of chaotic signal at CSK receiver. Firstly, the transmitter undergoes bifurcation-parameter modulation according to transmitted digit. Due to the chaotic si gnals sensitivity to parameter, the received chaotic signals with different bifurcation parameter is different. Corresponding to the different calculated probabilities, the transmitted digital signal can be decode correctly. The simulation results using Matlab agrees well with the presented theory.

J4. 2004, 42 (01):  113-115.
Abstract ( 186 )   PDF (264KB) ( 229 )
Cyt c/Au/AAO/PySSPy electrodes were made by immobilizing Cyt c on PySSPy modified gold electrodes covered with AAO templates. The cyclic voltammgram of Cyt c/Au/AAO/PySSPy films shows a pair of well-defined and nearly reversible peaks at about 0.059 V(vs. Ag/AgCl) in pH 6.8 PBS buffers, being the chara cteristic peaks of the Cyt c heme Fe(Ⅲ)/Fe(Ⅱ)redox couples. In the microenvironm ent of the AAO/PySSPy film, the electron transfer between Cyt c and the electrode was greatly enhanced. The soret absorption band positions suggest that Cyt c retained its native conformation in AAO templates. The hydrogen peroxide was cat alytically reduced at Cyt c/Au/AAO/PySSPy electrodes.

The EC50(50% inhibitory growth concentration) values of nitrobenzenes were determined for population growth endpoint of escherichia coli and bacillus subtilis. Quantitative structure activity relationships (QSARs) were developed with negative logarithm of EC50(-lg EC 50) in mole liter, as the dependent variable and six molecular descriptors lg P, 1X , I, Ka, ∑σ and ELUMO as the independent variables. By means of multiple linear regression analysis, two equations were obtained, Escherichia coli: -lg EC50=1.575+0.522lg P+0.332I+0.341∑σ , n=27, r=0.907, r=0.822, s=0.194, f=35.4. Bacillus subtilis: -lg EC50=0.744lg P+0.276I+0.230 a+0.179ELUMO-0.928, n=26, r=0.964, r=0.928, s=0.113, f=68.1. The equations were used to estimate EC50 for seven analogues and some toxicity mechanism was also discussed.

The urokinase peptide inhibitors were screened in a phage display 6-mer peptide library by three rounds of selection basically according to the method described by Smith. To improve the screening effectiveness and specifi city, we designed a novel screening method in order to remove most of urokinase substrates from the peptide library. The potential inhibitors of urokinase were riched. After sequencing the clones, several related peptides were determined. Two 6-mer peptides were synthesized and their inhibitory constants to urokinase were determined to be 88.6 μmol/L and 32.5 μmol/L, respectively.
