Vehicle longitudinal speed split-phase control

A vehicle longitudinal speed control algorithm was proposed to be used in vehicle closed-loop simulation or in an autonomous vehicle speed control system. As the vehicle longitudinal motion system is a nonlinear system and the reference speed is a random input, the motion of the vehicle was divided into 5 phases: steady speed control phase, acceleration control phase, emergent acceleration phase, brake control phase and emergent brake phase. Throttle paddle was used only in the first 3 phases, and brake paddle was used only in the last 2 phases. In each specific phase, an anti-integral saturation PID control algorithm or a P algorithm was used. Simulation results showed that the proposed split-phase control was characterized by an accurate vehicle speed-following and a logic switching between a throttle control and a brake control.

Powertrain parameter matching of series-parallel hybrid electric bus

A heavily hybrid powertrain configuration using 2 motors and a clutch to couple them was taken as the object of research. This layout cancels the automatic transmission(AMT), avoids the problem that the domestic manufacturers cannot produce the AMT independently. The parameter match was performed with new method to improve the deficiencies of the existed traditional match method,i.e., insufficient consideration of driving cycle conditions and high efficiency area. The proposed new match idea includes 3 main aspects:the vehicle dynamic performance, the power demand of the typical driving cycle in China cities and overlap of the high efficiency areas. The parameters of main components including engine, generator, motor and batttery were match in connection with the control strategy. A hybrid system model was built, and simulations were performed using softwares CRUISE/MATLAB/SIMULINK. The simulation results indicated that the series-parallel bus with the matched paramters can meet the design requirement of performance with fuel economy improvement of 37.6%.

Remote monitoring system for electric vehicles

A system was built to grasp the operating status of many electric vehicles. In the slave computer there were a battery management system and a motor controller to collect the informations from the battery and the motor. A vehicle management system relized the data communication with other units via a controller area network(CAN) and the data were transfered from CAN to the RS232. The data were transfered by a data transfer unit to the host computer by the general packet radio service(GPRS) technology and by help of the mobile signals and the Internet. The host computer used the dynamic data exchange technology to combine Kingview, MATLAB and Visual Basic(VB) by using MATLAB for theoretical calculation and VB calling MAPX control unit and the computing and positioning powers were expanded. The practical application of the system showed that the system was characterized by good real-timelyness, it will play an actual role in the development of the electric vehicle.

Influence of driving speed on absorption/compression hybrid refrigeration cycle

By quantitatively analyzing the exhaust gas parameters from a bus engine under different driving conditions and calculating the absorption/compression hybrid refrigeration cycle, the structure of the refrigeration generator and its heat transfer area were determined. A model with distributed parameters was built for the heat transfer between the engine exhaust gases and working fluid in the generator. The influences of the generator cooling loads on the characteristic of the hybrid refrigeration cycle were analyzed at different driving speeds. The results showed that at the condition of cooling load 30 kW, so long as the driving speed higher than 100 km/h, the waste heat absorption refrigeration sub-cycle alone can meet completely the cooling request of the bus. When the driving speeds between 35 and 100 km/h, the combination of both absorption and compression refrigeration sub-cycles can supply the sufficient cooling. When driving speeds lower than 35 km/h, the cooling of the bus was provided only by the compression refrigeration sub-cycle.

Pedestrian crossing speed characteristic based on video detection

In light of the problem that the traditional manual investigation method is hard to get the instantaneous speed characteristic of pedestrian street crossing, the video detection technique was used to extract the pedestrian crossing trajectory. The center offset concept was introduced to improve the co-linear calibrition algorithm, and the good calibration and restoration of the trajectory were realized. The average speed of the pedestrian street crossing and its characteristic of distribution curve of instantaneous speed of pedestrian crossing were obtained using the extracted real pedestrian crossing trajectory. Considering the influence of pedestrian age on crossing speed, the pedestrian crossing behavior was classified into groups. The characteristics of speed and its distribution were extracted for each group, and the causes for difference were analyzed. The results provided a reference for the installation of pedestrian facilities and timing of the pedestrian street crossing signals.

Quantitative analysis of traveler route choice behavior based on Mixed Logit model

To explore the effect of the urban road traffic dynamics on the traveler route choice behavior, a stated preference survey questionnaire was designed using the orthogonal design method. The survey was conducted with the travelers with driving experience in Dalian city. With the time parameter and the cost parameter fixed as well as the cost parameter obeying the normal distribution and lognormal distribution, a Logit model and a Mixed Logit model were built for the route choice analysis, and a quantitative analysis was performed for the route change trend caused by variables. The model estimation results indicated that the maximum likelihood, the values of goodness-of-fit index, and hit ratio of the Mixed Logit model are better than those of the Logit model. The traveler sensitivity for the travel time and dynamic change of time information are similar, and the most sensitive parameter is the travel cost. The traveler age, years of driving experience and income are the most significant factors affecting the route choice behavior.

Influences of time step and cell size on cellular automaton model

By improving updating rules of NaSch model and adopting time step and cell size as input values of the model, a refined NS model was established and used to study the influence of time step and cell size on road traffic flow evolution and their action mechanisms. Simulation showed that smaller time step can truly reflect the relative motion of vehicles and reduce deterministic deceleration while smaller cell size can accurately describe the change of vehicle velocity and location and reduce "delay" effect caused by cumulative update of travel distance. Simulation results of traffic flow using the refined model have less jam width and speed dispersion, which suggests better system stability. The simulated traffic flow and measured data were in good agreement, which solved the problem that simulated traffic flow of classic NS model is lower than the actual flow.

Effects of road surface fractal and rubber characteristics on tire sliding friction factor

An improved model was built to analyze the effects of road surface fractal feature and rubber friction characteristics on the tire sliding friction factor(SFF). Simplifying the calculation of the rubber viscoelasticity characteristics, introducing the road surface fractal features and rubber friction characteristics, an improved model was built for the SFF. The comparison with the Savkoor dynamic friction factor verified the effectiveness of the improved model. Using the improved model, simulations were performed to analyze the vehicle speed on tire SFF under different road surfaces and different types of tire. The results showed that the improved SFF model can precisely analyze the effects of road surface feature and tire rubber characteristic on SFF under different sliding speeds, avoid introduction of the parameters which are difficult to obtain, providing a theoretical basis for the systematic analysis of the explicit-implicit tire print features.

Lane changing trajectory tracking control for intelligent vehicle on curved road based on backstepping

The trajectory tracking control was studied for the lane changing of the intelligent vehicle with non-holonomic constraint feature on curved road based on the kinematics model of the vehicle. Considering the cuvacture radius of the lane and the coupling of the longitudinal and lateral movements with the lane changing trajectory in the lane changing process, a lane changing trajectory planning method suitable for the curved road was proposed. According to the lane changing trajectory, a tracking control algorithm was proposed using the integral backstepping with intermediate virtual controllers. The stability of the control system was proved by Lyapunov stability theory. The simulations were performed and the results demonstrated that the control system guaranteed the trajectory tracking errors of the vehicle lane changing on curved road were uniformly and above boundedly convergent. The control system is characterized by quick work precise tracking and robust global stability.

Determination of mass center height of bogie

To determine the mass center height of the bogie more accurately, a measurement method of the mass center height was proposed by help of the mass response theory, and a mass center measuring system was developed based on the slope simulator. A Matlab/GUI user control interface was designed by calling the inverse displacement solution model for the slope simulator to obtain the inverse displacement solution real-timely, providing a theoretical basis for the measurement of mass center height of the bogie.

Milling simulation analysis of spiral bevel gear based on tooth generating line

Based on the generating principle of the tooth surface of spiral bevel gear with spherical involute,the formation theory of generating line of tooth surface was studied. A method was proposed to machine this kind of gear tooth surface with the generating line as the milling cutter edge and using 3-axis linkage. A 3-D model was built for the bevel gear machine tool, the simulation of bevel gear machining process was performed and the tooth surface contact trace of the bevel gear generated by simulation was analyzed. The results indicated that the milling process of the spiral bevel gear based on the proposed theory is characterized by a simple motion and an easy control, and being able to realize the line-contact transmission with large dip-angle.

Ultrasonic standing wave levitation ability

To improve the levitation ability and its stability of the ultrasonic standing wave device, a device with concave spheres as radiating and reflecting surfaces was put forward. The generation process of the ultrasonic standing wave was simulated by software ANSYS and the distributions of the acoustic pressure and its maximums were found under different concave spheres of radiating and reflecting surfaces. The standing wave levitating positions were predicted by the Matlab simulation method. An ultrasonic standing wave levitation device was prototyped according to the optimized results, and several particles were levitated in the device. The measured levitation positions were in accordance with the simulated ones. 3 steel balls with diameter 3 mm were levitated in 3 wave nodes simultaneously when the distance between the radiating surface and the reflecting surface is double of the wavelength, showing that the levitating ability and stability enhanced significantly.

Servo control of the composite controller based on combined given curve

The requirements of the plate straightening process on the response process of hydraulic cylinder in the praxis were studied, a concept of combined given curve was proposed to alleviate the impact of the system with large mass and inertia during the response for the step and ramp signals and its harm on the whole system. Combined with the nonlinear PID control backed up by the tracking differentiator, a composite controller was proposed based on the combined given curves of the displacement, velocity and acceleration. The feasibility and practicality of the proposed algorithm were verified by simulations and the practical application in the full-hydraulic straightening machine.

Quasicontinuum simulation of nanometric cutting of single crystal copper

The nanometric cutting process of the single crystal copper was simulated by the quasi-continuum multi-scale method. The diagrams of atomic positions and stress distributions were used to describe the local deformation in the nanometric cutting process to get the response curve of the cutting force versus cutting distance in the process. The atomic details of material deformation, material removal and internal damage in the process were analyzed microscopically. According to the simulation results, the dislocation nucleation, the evolution process, the vanishment of dislocations, the formations of cutting chips and newly generated surfaces were analyzed deeply in atomic level. The fluctuations of cutting force and strain energy were explained by evolution of dislocation movement. It was concluded that the compression in cutting zone ahead of cutting edge in the nanometric cutting process led to dislocation nucleation, and the removal of plastic material in the process resulted from the evolution of dislocations.

One step forming positive method based on deformation theory

On the basis of the inverse method of one-step forming process, a positive method was proposed to simulate the sheet metal stamping process. The spatial initial solution of the one-step forming positive method was preliminarily obtained using the mapping relationships and area coordinates. Then using Newton-Raphson method to get iterative solutions in 3-D coordinate system based on deformation theory. The contact search method was introduced in the iterative process to ensure the nodes do not separate from the part surface. The solving process of the positive method was more in line with the part forming process, it improved the simulation precision while kept the advantage of high efficiency of the inverse method. A square-box drawing experiment was performed and the positive method was validated.

Effects of surfactants on corrosion behavior of chromium-free electroless nickel deposit on magnesium alloy

The nickel coating was electroless chemically deposited on AZ91D magnesium alloy and the effects of the surfactant on its corrosion behavior were investigated. The corrosion tests were carried out by immersion test(1 mol/L HCl) and electrochemical polarization test(3.5% NaCl). The tests showed that the surfactant in the electroless nickel deposit bath enhances the corrosion resistance of the deposit on the magnesium alloy. In addition smoothness and amorphous plus nano-crystalline phases enhance its corrosion resistance significantly. The polarization tests showed that the corrosion potential moved towards the positive direction and the corrosion current density decreased. The immersion tests showed the same trend as that of the electrochemical polarization tests. On the whole, the corrosion resistance was enhanced by positive ion surfactants in the electroless deposits on the magnesium alloy.

Polycrystalline material microstructure simulation and numerical calculation

The characterizations of the microstructures of several kinds of polycrystalline material were realized based on the geometry structure and topological feature of Laguerre diagram as well as by introducing the anisotropic behavior of the polycrystalline material. Integrating the independently developed program for Laguerre diagram construction and the secondarily developed script program of commercial finite element analysis software ABAQUS, a basic platform software Virtual TPS was developed for numerical simulation of material microstructure. Using the software the numerical calculation and analysis were performed for micromechanical responses of representative volume elements in the polycrystalline material microstructure.

Mechanism of hot stamping hardening for ultra-high strength steel

Taking steel 22MnB5 as study object, the hardering mechanism during hot stamping of ultra-high strength steel was investigated. An austenite grain calculation model during heating process and a deformation resistance model were built based on the hot simulation test results. The transient temperature fields of steel during hot stamping and quenching were calculated by the finite element method, the phase transition of the steel during hot forming was analyzed using the phase transition kinetics model, and the relationship between the microstructures and the mechanical properties was revealed. The results showed that the optimal process to get homogeneous fine lath martensite is as follow: heating 5 min at 900℃~950℃, quenching by cooling rate over 30℃/s, and maintaining pressure about 8 s.

Conflict-based diagnosis of discrete event system

A dynamic model-based diagnosis method based on conflict computation is proposed. Discrete event system uses automaton to off-line add the probabilities to events and states. The method deals with the uncertainty lead by the incomplete observation. The ability of the discrete system in solving uncertain problem is enhanced. On the model built off-line, the conflict between model and observation is computed on-line, and the trajectory compatible with the observation is extracted. Based on the trajectory, the fault is estimated, the faulty trajectory is given and the state of the system is deduced. The conflict-based diagnosis is extended to the diagnosis in discrete event system. The search and judgment of unrelated events are avoided, thus, the research space is reduced. Therefore, the proposed diagnosis method is suitable for large scale systems.

Representation of topological relations between a hollow region and a simple region

The topological relations between a hollow region and a simple region are represented by extending a four-intersection matrix model to a six-intersection matrix model, and the diagrams of seventeen topological relations between the two regions are obtained. The proposed six-intersection matrix model can give twelve more topological relations than the four-intersection matrix model, and its ability of expression is stronger. It is proved that, between a hollow region and a simple region, there are only seventeen topological relations, which are exclusive and completed. A topological relation algorithm is given, which validates that these topological relations can be realized by program.

The automatic composition of semantic Web service with model checking technology

This paper introduces a method of Web service based on OWL-S and model checking technology. It uses timed automata to establish the model of semantic Web service. This model can describe the semantic information in the interface and the alternation of flows and express the composite user requirement. Based on this model, the corresponding model checking tools can achieve effective automatic composition. Simulation experiments prove that this method effectively increases the efficiency and quality of service composition, and it has very evident advantage in keeping and expressing state space.

Constraint multi-objective evolutionary algorithm based on artificial bee colony algorithm

To improve the convergence and diversity of constraint multi-objective evolutionary algorithms, a novel constraintd multi-objective evolutionary algorithm, named CMABC, based on Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) algorithm is proposed. CMABC treats constraint conditions using external population storing feasible and unfeasible solutions. In addition, according to the feature of constraint multi-objective optimal problems, the update method of external and iterative population, and the ABC algorithm are improved. Experiment results show that the CMABC outperforms the state-of-the-art Multi-Objective Artificial Bee Colony (MOABC) algorithm and Hybrid Particle Swarm Optimization (HPSO) algorithm in terms of convergence and diversity matrics, which proves the superiority of CMABC in solving constraint multi-objective optimal problems.

Second-order neighborhoods in complex network

The local topological structure in complex network is studied based on a two layer depth network, which is centered by a node. Some concepts used in neighborhood network are proposed, one of which is called neighborhood-degree. By analysis, it is found that neighborhood network can be applied in Internet's information transfer and control, self-adaptation in agent organization, network's robustness and community discovery. By decomposing the neighborhood-degree, the community segmentation of Zachary social network can be effectively conducted, and the result is in good agreement with real situation.

Context-aware adaptive middleware in vehicular network

The existing middleware technology in the filed of vehicular network possesses several disadvantages, that is neither able to effectively support the inconstant vehicular network environment, nor to simultaneously satisfy the real-time and stability requirements in vehicular applications. To overcome these disadvantages, a context-aware adaptive middleware in vehicular environment, called CARMVE, is proposed, which is based on the structure of multiple component-chains. With CARMVE the development cost and complexity of vehicular applications can be reduced; the flexibility, adaptability and portability can be improved. In this paper, the context-aware mechanism and adaptive mechanism of CARMVE are introduced to illustrate that CARMVE can provide strong support in complex vehicular environment. Furthermore, a case study is carried out to demonstrate how to develop and deploy vehicular applications based on CARMVE.

Basic block-level pointer analysis algorithm for C2VHDL compiler

To overcome the shortcoming of existing C2VHDL compiler dealing with pointer, based on the investigation of traditional algorithm, a block-based pointer analysis algorithm was designed and realized in the ASCRA compiler, which is developed for the application of CPU-FPGA based on LLVM. Experiment results show that this algorithm can simplify the pointer analysis process, meanwhile, achieve the same precision as the flow sensitive pointer algorithm. This algorithm also can support more pointer data types than pointer reduction technology. The VHDL programs generated by ASCRA using this algorithm can achieve the same resource consumption and processing speed as the pointer reduction technology.

Complex networks, such as social networks and biological networks, are ubiquitous in real world. Identifying modules and their relationships in complex networks is very important to discover entities and modules behind the networks, and to understand the mechanisms of the networks. In this paper, we analyze modules and their interplays in complex network using Canonical Correlation Analysis (CCA). To improve the interpretability of the results, we further extend the solution of CCA as a LASSO optimization problem, and then propose a new mining algorithm of modules and their relationships. This algorithm enables us to disclose modules and explicitly modeling their relationships simultaneously. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and DBLP datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

At the demand analysis and outline design stage of laser angle deception simulation system, its software reliability is allocated by distribution method which is based on fuzzy Failure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) framework. First, an influential factor set and an evaluation set are created. Second, fuzzy comprehensive evaluation matrixes are created, which are based on FMECA framework. Third, the weight sets are obtained by Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Finally, the unreliability coefficients of the subsystems are calculated through quantitative means; then these coefficients are transformed into Mean Time between Failures (MTBF). The final software reliability allocation by the proposed method in this work complies with the results of expert assessment and with the reliability allocation results by similar software systems.

Human face recognition based on low resolution local binary pattern

In order to improve the accuracy of human face recognition, a novel Low Resolution Local Binary Pattern (LRLBP) method is proposed. First, the low-resolution image is obtained from the original image through wave filter and down-sampling. Second, the obtained image is divided into non-overlapping rectangular regions and the histogram of each region is computed independently. Finally, these histograms are concatenated as the feature vector of the human face. Experiment results on ORL and Yale face databases show that the proposed LRLBP method can get high human face recognition rate and that the method is robust to illumination, face expression and position variations.

Multi-feature fusion face recognition based on KRWDA algorithm under smart environment

In view of the situation of low recognition rate and bad robustness of the face recognition based on the single modal features and smart environment, a new multi-feature fusion face recognition method was proposed based on global and local feature fusion and kernel relevance weighted discriminant analysis(KRWDA) algorithm. In order to solve the problem caused by small sample size, a new algorithm called KRWDA was proposed by combination of the relevance weighted discriminant analysis and the kernel trick. The global features and local features were fused in feature layer using the complementarity of the contents and functions described at recognition, and the global features and the local features were extracted by discrete cosine transform and Gabor wavelet transform respectively. The simulation experiments on database AMIES2016 indicated that the proposed method can enhance the accuracy of identity recognition system effectively.

Discovering tribe-leaders based on frequent pattern of propagation

A novel scheme of mining tribe-leaders was proposed based on the frequent pattern of propagation. In this scheme, first, a method to expend the information tree is applied to overcome the problem of multi-pattern propagation, in which the information propagation tree is converted into a connected and undirected acyclic graph. Then, considering the support and influent strength, a new frequent sub-graph mining method called Tribe-FGM is proposed to improve the efficiency of the graph mining by reducing the scale of pattern growth. A real dataset from sina microblog was taken in the experiment. The dataset is about topic of "earthquake", which contains 0.9 million posts and 0.6 million users, and the topic of the "two sessions", which contains about 0.31 million posts and 0.21 users. Experiment results validate the proposed scheme.

In order to implement publish/subscribe in large-scale Mobile Ad-hoc Network (MANET), this paper proposes a clustering publish/subscribe routing protocol based on hierarchical network structure, termed CPSR. The protocol divides the network into finite clusters, and constructs limited size of rooted publish/subscribe tree in intra-cluster, where content-based routing is used to forward events. A high-layer of virtual backbone is formed between the cluster heads, and destination-based routing is used to forward events in intra-cluster. Simulation results show that hierarchical network structure can effectively limit the information exchange within a certain range in the cluster, and avoid the high overhead of the maintenance of content-based publish/subscribe tree structure, therefore, the performance and scalability of the network are effectively improved.

A human face tracking and expression recognition system was built based on the active machine vision platform and the related experiments were performed. The system architecture and its key functional modules to realize the facial expression recognition were described. The system detects the human face area selected by the attention, tracks the face by controlling with PTZ, recognizes the facial expression real-timely. A lot of face tracking experiments were carried out on the system, including those in complex and simple background, proving the effectiveness of the system.

Decentralized backstepping control for reconfigurable modular robots based on ESO and DSC

A decentralized backstepping controller based on third-order Extension State Observer (ESO) and Dynamic Surface Control (DSC) for reconfigurable modular robots with interconnection terms is presented. The coupling interconnection terms of the joints and modeling uncertainties are estimated and compensated in real-time using third-order ESOs, in which parameters are adjusted adaptively using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm. Based on DSC, the decentralized backstepping controller is used to overcome the problem of "explosion terms" caused by differential coefficient calculation. The stability of the controller is analyzed by Lyapunov theory. The controller is applied to the trajectory tracking control of a 4-DOF reconfigurable modular robot. Simulation results verify the validity of the presented controller in dealing with the coupling interconnection terms and solving the problem of "explosion terms" in backstepping control.

The Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware implementation scheme for Active Queue Management (AQM) algorithms was proposed in order to increase the execution speed and real-time of the algorithms, and to decrease the consumption of router resource. The serial communication programs between FPGA and the software-router IPCop were written. The scheme was applied to Random Early Detection (RED) algorithm. Test results show that the general communication interface between FPGA and the router was achieved, and the function of effective and rapid congestion control of RED algorithm was realized in the hardware level. This research provides an effective scheme for FPGA hardware implementation of the AQM algorithms.

11-bit 1-MS/s SAR ADC with a set-and-down switching procedure

This paper presents the design of an 11-bit 1-MS/s Successive Approximation Register (SAR) Analog-to-Digital Convertor (ADC) with a set-and-down switching procedure using 0.35 μm CMOS process. The switching procedure of capacitor network is investigated. The results show that, compared with conventional 11-bit SAR ADC, the average switching energy consumption is reduced by 81.25%, and the number of unit capacitors is reduced by 50%. Post simulation results also show that Signal to Noise and Distortion Ratio (SNDR) reaches 66.6 dB and the Efficient Number of Bit (ENOB) reaches 10.7 bit. With 0.35 μm 2P3M CMOS process, the circuit layout is realized. This SAR ADC layout occupies an area of 705 μm × 412 μm.

Low power consumption CMOS concurrent dual-band low noise amplifier

A concurrent dual-band low-noise amplifier (LNA) with single-ended input and differential output which was characterized by low power consumption was designed and implemented based on SMIC 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS process. Using the cascode structure with inductive source degeneration, the input resistance and noise performance were optimized simultaneously at 2 different bands under power constraint, and the concurrent receive was achieved with single-ended input and differential output. The size of the LNA core circuit is 450 μm×350 μm. The LNA consumes power 8.4 mW at a power supply voltage of 1.8 V. The simulations showed that at working frequencies 1.227 GHz and 1.575 GHz, its power gains were 14.67 dB and 12.68 dB, the input return losses were-11.61 dB and-12 dB, the noise coefficients were 2.3 dB and 2.53 dB, and the input 1 dB compression points were-18.5 dBm and-14.5 dBm, respectively. The LNA can be used in concurrent dual-band global positioning system receiver for its good input match, low noise, and high linearity at dual-band.

Wireless vehicle-to-vehicle power exchange system and its constant current control

Dealing with the possible emergency of low battery charging state in moving electric vehicles(EVs), a novel wireless vehicle-to-vehicle power exchange system was proposed. With this system, one EV with low battery state can get power supply from other EVs with abundant battery power supply. A major circuit topology with symmetric structure and symmetric parameter setting for the transmitting part and the pick-up part was introduced, and the phase-shifted control strategy was used to realize the constant current charging. An equivalent circuit model was built for the system, and the mathematical expressions between the inverter phase shift angle at transmitting end and charging current as well as the distance from the transmitting coil to the pick-up coil were derived. The feasibilities of the proposed system and its control strategy were validated by simulation and experiment results.

Based on the concept of extended centroids, a new segment length ratio affine geometry invariant is proposed in this paper. First, with the affine geometrical characteristics of the extended centroids, it is proved that an image's extended centroids by affine region cutting and its original cnetroid are in the same straight line. Then, a lower redundancy affine area cutting strategy is proposed, and the extended images are defined. Finally, under the new cutting strategy combined with the extended images, the segment length ratio affine geometry invariants are constructed by the collinear extended centroids and the original centroid. Theoretical analysis and experiment results show that the new invariants have high stability, small accumulated error and better classification ability.

Speaker recognition with short utterances based on multiple kernel SVM-GMM

A linear combination of several kernels is used to construct multiple kernel space. In multiple kernel space, Support Vector Machine (SVM) classifiers are designed to identify speakers with short utterances. Multiple kernel mapping can solve the problem of single kernel mapping, such as the selection of kernel function and parameters. Besides, multiple kernel mapping can increase discriminative power among different speakers and improve the performance of classifiers. In simulation experiment, Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) was used to get GMM supervector as speakers' final feature parameters. Experiment results show that under the condition of short utterances and two noisy environments, the performance and robustness of the multiple SVM-GMM speaker recognition algorithm are better than that of SVM-GMM algorithm.

Detection of bleeding image in wireless capsule endoscope based on superpixel segmentation

The morphological processing and the computer-aided diagnosis were used to detect the bleeding images in wireless capsule endoscope(WCE). Based on the morphological processing and the superpixel segmentation of the WCE images, the red ratio color feature was proposed, and the segmented images were classified by the least squares support vector machine. The experiment results showed that the proposed method can effectively detect the bleeding regions in WCE images, its sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy can reach 99%, 94%, and 95% respectively. This method can help the clinician examine the gastrointestinal diseases.

A means for measuring the polarization angle difference between the sender and the receiver to preprocess polarization states is required. A single photon base correction method to preprocess every base is presented to enhance system security. Based on the single photon, a multiple-base quantum secure direct communication protocol is proposed. The protocol can overcome the disadvantages of low sifted information in traditional multi-state system. The mutual information between the sender and eavesdropper is very low because that the random base is adopted to construct the multi-state system. Due to the use of checking sequence and One-Time-Pad, even if the eavesdropper gets the random sequence, the information sequence is still secure. This protocol possesses the advantages of higher security, easier implementation and longer communication distance.

Real-time online measurement of the transmission time delay in long-distance chained systems

A lot of acquisition nodes are arranged in a straight line in seismic streamer, so there is large transmission time delay for the signal from one node to another. Meanwhile, different nodes generate different transmission time delays which are unknown; therefore, the delay time can not be accurately corrected, causing bad result of synchronization accuracy. To solve this problem, a model of "the signal return" and a measuring method of the transmission time delay were proposed. Employing the link multiplexing technology, the transmission time delay from the pre-processing module to all nodes can be measured accurately through the same clock signal line only, and the transmission delay time with each node can be transmitted to the corresponding node. This can provide a precise delay time, which allows the error of delay time to be accurately corrected. Experiment results with three nodes demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

In order to obtain orthogonal signal set of Sinusoidal Non-linear Chirp Keying (SNCK), the mathematical correlation integral expression is derived, and solution to give an analytical formula with the Bessel function is found. Analysis of the orthogonality of SNCK signals with different period number of frequency variation curve, different time-bandwidth product and different frequency modulation polarity shows that the SNCK method can implement orthogonal modulation by flexibly selecting modulation parameters. A scheme to search for orthogonal signal set of SNCK is provided, which lays a foundation for multi-carrier parallel communication using SNCK signals.

Fast convergence parameter estimation method based on expectation-maximum algorithm

A fast convergence parameter estimation method based on Expectation-Maximum (EM) algorithm is developed. This method modifies the priori probability with posteriori probability in the iteration of the EM algorithm. The relationship between the CRB of parameter estimation and the convergence speed of the EM algorithm is analyzed. It is shown that to decrease the CRB of parameter estimation can accelerate the convergence speed of the EM algorithm. The mechanism to accelerate the convergence speed by the modified algorithm is proved, that is to reduce the entropy of the missing data. It is also proved that the modified algorithm can converge to the likelihood function as the non-modified algorithm. Taking phase estimation as example, the modified method is compared with traditional method based on EM algorithm. Simulation results show that, without affecting the estimation performance, the convergence speed of the modified method is faster.

Optimization of sensor array for identification of corn juice

The sensor array for identification of corn juices was optimized for the key technical issues of automated quality evaluation of corn juices. The inherent relationship among the response signals of sensors was analyzed by the factor analysis, and the sensors of the array were divided into 6 categories according to the correlation coefficients and the component plot in rotated space, and combined into 12 different sets of sensor array. Because the decision boundary surface of the probabilistic neural network can be arbitrary complex, the decision boundary surface built at selected smoothing parameter 0.01 characterizes the impact differences of the data acquired by different sets of sensor array on the identification results. Selecting the sensors named S4,S2,P2,P3,S6 and S7 to build a new sensor array to identify 7 kinds of corn juices. The identification accuracy rate for corn juices by the optimized sensor array was 98.016%, which was higher than 94.444% by the non-optimized one.

Stability and anti-oxidative abilities of phosvitin and phosvitin phosphopeptides

The thermo stability, emulsifying activity and stability of phosvitin (PV) and phosvitin phosphopeptides (PPPs), and the influence of Pulsed Electric Field (PEF) on the secondary structure of PV were investigated. Also the anti-oxidative ability, DPPH clearing capability, reductive ability and chelating capability of PV and PPPs were determined. The results show that both PV and PPPS have good thermo stability, emulsifying activity and stability. After the samples were treated by PEF, the secondary structure of PV was not obviously modified, which indicates that the influence of PEF is not significant on the secondary structure of PV. Moreover, PV and PPPs have good bioactivities of clearing DPPH free radicals, reductive ability and metallic ion chelating ability. Consequently, both PV and PPPs have good anti-oxidative ability, but PPPs is superior to PV in this aspect.

Optimization of extrusion process parameters of nutritious rice rich in chestnut by response surface method

Taking the setback value of the extruded nutritious rice rich in chestnut as the index, the effects of the extruder barrel temperature, the water content of material, the screw speed, and the hole number of mold head were investigated by single-factor experiments and analyzed by the response surface method. With the aid of software Design Expert 7.0.0, a mathematical model was derived to reflect the effects of the factors on the index and the effects of the interaction among factors on the index were analyzed. The results indicated that the optimal extrusion conditions were:the barrel temperature 74℃, the water content of material 30.66%, the screw speed 230 r/min, and the extrusion hole number 6. Under these working conditions the setback value of extruded nutritious rice rich in chestnut was stabilized around 153 cp, meeting the request that the setback value of improved variety of rice to cooked rice(less than 300 cp).
